GOVERNANCE STRUCTURE

The General Assembly:

In accordance with the WiLDAF Constitution, there is a general assembly composed of network members (organizational and individual members). Membership currently stands at 70. The expertise in the network is diverse including but not limited to lawyers, doctors, public health experts, traditional leaders, development practitioners, gender experts, Gender Based Violence experts, HIV/AIDS experts, farmers, businesswomen, Academics, Local Governance experts, trade unionists, The General Assembly sets the theme for the organization’s strategic plan. The General Assembly (Network) is guided by the WiLDAF Constitution and the Network Manual.

National Executive Committee (The Board):

This is a nine (9) member board elected from the General Assembly for a 4 year term of office. Board members are elected based on their skills and professions to enhance the work of the organization. The Board is divided into three committees (Management, Finance, Programmes) which set policy direction and guidance. The Board meets four times a year. The Board has a Charter that further spells out its roles and responsibilities.

Operational Structure / Management:

The Operational Structure/Management comprises core staff, auxiliary staff and volunteers. The core staff includes the National Programme Coordinator (Executive Director), a deputy Programme Coordinator (Head of Programmes) and Programme Managers for each of the four (4) program areas. These are augmented by a Communications and Advocacy Manager, a Network Coordinator, Finance, Administration Manager, Monitoring and Evaluation Manager. The organogram, staff handbook and contracts of service delineate clear terms of reference, lines of supervision and grievance reporting procedures.
